Off by a couple hundred yards
A friend lives just up the road from Hardin Valley Elementary and right next to a very large empty lot that's across the street from the school. Apparently a developer wanted to put a subdivision in but the soil couldn't handle the septic systems. I half jokingly said he should expect a new high school next door in a few years. It turns out that the School Board decided on a lot behind the school instead of the one across the street.
There's a lot of growth out in that area. My friends are going to end up about 1/2 mile from the new I-75 bypass if it get's built where it's currently planned and less than 200 yards from the elementary, middle and high schools. Their current quiet rural house is going to be smack dab in the middle of suburbia in 15 years.
I hope they enjoy the sounds of a practicing marching band.

Sorry. Was out of town for a week and this week is hellish. I'll be back at it next week sometime.
