Ragsdale & Hutchinson
Frank Cagle says that the Sherriff and County Mayor are smart enough not to encourage opponents for each other and that "there is also little chance that any serious money could be raised to oppose either officeholder."
Don't count on it brother. Hutchinson hasn't exactly done anything to clean up his image and I'm guessing still have a significant number of Republicans that don't like him. Ragsdale raised taxes and hasn't exactly had a scandal free term either. Both are vulnerable. Now if we could only find a couple of qualified Democrats.

Off by a couple hundred yards
A friend lives just up the road from Hardin Valley Elementary and right next to a very large empty lot that's across the street from the school. Apparently a developer wanted to put a subdivision in but the soil couldn't handle the septic systems. I half jokingly said he should expect a new high school next door in a few years. It turns out that the School Board decided on a lot behind the school instead of the one across the street.
There's a lot of growth out in that area. My friends are going to end up about 1/2 mile from the new I-75 bypass if it get's built where it's currently planned and less than 200 yards from the elementary, middle and high schools. Their current quiet rural house is going to be smack dab in the middle of suburbia in 15 years.
I hope they enjoy the sounds of a practicing marching band.

Congratulations!
I wanted to send out a big congratulations to my friend and webhost Ron (no not the Ron from the comments section) on the birth of his daughter. You are in for the most amazing time of your life.
