Bush=Palpatine Part II
I posted about this a few days ago (see two posts down). Some idiotic comments from some right-winger about Episode III being anti-Bush. This story is getting enough traction now that this morning's Today Show did a segment about it in their first 1/2 hour.
a) Lucas wrote Episodes I-III before Episode I came out. This story has been building for 6 years now. This plot has been laid out plainly for 6 years now.
b) If you see any similarity between the manipulative rise of Palpatine from Senator to Evil Emperor, then you're either already a liberal or have some subconscious guilt about the man you elected.
c) The whole conversation is just stupid. It's a movie people.

Comments
d) Bush is several levels more evil than Palpatine.
e) Palpatine was a Senator, Bush not.
f) No real people are hurt in the making of these movies.
g) Evil looks the same wherever you find it. It's ugly.
h) Why are we still having this conversation?

Although I haven't read it, It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis has many similarities to the Bush Coup according to reviews.
Seems there's no end to the Bush bashing. Talk about a prequel.

I agree Paul.
Lucas said it was a statement about how easily fascism can take control of governments in a general sort of way, not about Dubya in particular. It was written 6 years ago fer Chrissakes people!
If the general staement hits home with some right wingers then I suppose they ought to take the lesson to heart about Dear Leader and his pack of thugs adn what they are doing to our country.
