Who do these people represent anyway?

This is Tennessee's congressional delegation and how they voted on the Bankruptcy Reform Bill:

Lamar Alexander - Yea
Bill Frist - Yea

TN1 - William Jenkins (R) - Yea
TN2 - John Duncan (R) - Yea
TN3 - Zach Wamp (R) - Yea
TN4 - Lincoln Davis (D) - Yea
TN5 - Jim Cooper (D) - Yea
TN6 - Bart Gordon (D) - Yea
TN7 - Marsha Blackburn (R) - Yea
TN8 - John Tanner (D) - Yea
TN9 - Harold Ford Jr. (D) - Yea

That's right, with our state leading the nation in bankruptcies and with our supposedly Democratic Governor set to kick more than 300,000 people off of Tenncare (which will only increase the number of bankruptcies filed), your elected representatives side with banks and credit card companies over the needs of their constituents. This bill makes bankruptcy more expensive and difficult for everyone. This hurts average Americans that did nothing wrong instead of making it easier to prosecute those that really abuse the system.

One of the biggest gems of this bill is leaving in place something called an "asset protection trust". Basically it's a way for the very wealthy to setup a trust designed to protect their assets during bankruptcy.

A good overview of the bill can be found here.

I'd like to urge everyone to call, write or visit your congressman and thank them for protecting CitiCorp's bottom line.

Oh and Congressman Ford, we'll remember this next year.

Oh my God. Sorry to use the G word on you. I can believe that the Soros party is gonna start eating their own. Watch out Harold Ford, Jr. They'll be calling you Uncle Tom before long.

*cough*Sundquist*cough*

Sundquist just did not listen. This was not just one issue. He tried everyway in the world to pass a state income tax to fund healthcare for the good folks across the state line. I will have to say that I did not vote for him. The current governor evidently understands what he hears. He is also fiscally responsible. I will like him a lot more if he will do what he said and deal with the issues of our roads here in Knoxville. He promised to stand TDOT on there heads and I am waiting. Unlike some folks I don't dislike him just because he is a democrat. That is very shallow.

The Bankruptcy bill is just the latest example of unfettered republican power dealing from a deck that is being stacked in favor of the elite against the hardworking american people.

Holacaust survivor George Soros wrote"George Bush's war and deficit already ensure that every child born in america will arrive $36,000 in debt. Now the republicans are working to ensure that you and your children have no bankruptcy protection or reliable social security insurance as well. Welcome to the republican vision of america: the sharecropper society. Most of america is a medical emergency away from bankrupcy and sharecropper status."
Hint: If you got less than six figures from Bush's tax cuts, you are not one of the owners. You are the owned.

We need new leadership in the mold of Teddy Roosevelt, whom was courageous and energetic, with a recognition that without government checks on corporate power, honest, hard-working Americans simply do not stand a chance.

As for DLC Harold Ford,he may find a strong challenge in the dem primary from State senator Rosalind Kurita.

These folks represent the Corporate States of America. It's time we got rid of the DINOs in the party with their Republican Lite ways and get some real Dems with real backbones that relish a good fight with the Ferengi GOP whores.

Wow, you guys are brilliant. Let's wipe out Corporate America. I get it now. Who needs jobs. But let's fight tax reform as well. Let's resist fixing social security. Everyone thought it was in trouble when Bill Clinton was in office but, whew, thank God we have seen the light and realized that because George W. Bush thinks the same thing then everyone else was wrong. God, thanks guys. I have been missing so much. Ya'll are fucking brilliant, did I mention that? And I like your ideas of reducing energy consumption. Let's just refuse to go to work. Not even one liberal I know is carpooling or riding the bus. Even they (we) should be taught a lesson. Let's put a $3 dollar a gallon tax on gas and give the money to the EPA. They are extremely efficient in spending money and can surely clean up the environment. Let's put a $2 a meal tax on a fast food combo and give the money to the education department. They couldn't account for hundreds of millions of dollars a few years back but instead of making them accountable lets just do the damn tax as good citizens and then they can waste the money without worrying because there will still be plenty more to throw at any potential problem. And we will be fighting obesity. Two birds with one stone. Wow. You know I think I will like being a liberal. I can solve all problems as a liberal. I will simply raise taxes. God, forgive me. How could I have missed this for so long. And social security. This is simple. We will just take twice as much social security tax from the people who make over $300,000 dollars a years and give it to someone who can't get a job. We will call it income as he will be having to raise his arm and open his hand to take the money. That's work. I learned that in 5th grade science class. The deficit is a no brainer. We will simply force all corporations to turn over half their profits to Moveon.Org who obviously knows how best to deal with all situations. And the religious nuts. Whew boy, we have to do something about those guys. I can't believe those guys don't want to hear about fisting on Howard Stern's show in the morning. "We" all know they can simply turn their radio off. And if their kids might listen they should just take them out of their room. They are just republicans children after all. What the hell do they matter. They aren't nearly as important and superior as us. They should just stick to reading their bibles in private and leave politics to us. I got the "us" that time. I believe I am coming on board. I even put bible in lower case on purpose. G*d, I think I am getting the hang of this. All my worries have disappeared. If I lose my job I will simply go out and demand money from the state. They've extended the unemployment insurance. G*d I feel great. Now I can worry about all the problems of the people who are too stupid to figure it out for themselves. All that is left to do is apply for as many credit cards as I can and run them up to the max and cash in on the bankruptcy thing before congress goes and does something stupid.. Oh wait. They already have. Those dumbass mother fuckers. This is all Tom Delay's fault. Let's advocate Tom commiting suicide. No wait.. thats already been done. I am sure I can come up with something original. Now lets get back to the deficit. This is, as any good liberal knows, a problem. There is only one solution. Tax. We have already in my previous example forced corporations to give up half there profits. Then we will levy this additional tax against the Top 1% of Americans. They were the beneficiaries of the reckless and irresponsible tax cuts that got the economy moving. Oops sorry. I shouldn't have given the tax cuts any credit for working. I'll learn guys, just give me time. And the military... give me a break. Who needs a military. Who want's to harm Americans? Michael Moore has proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that Muslim terror is a fabrication of Americans puny little minds. I think we could just hire senior citizens to watch the radar screens. This would surely suffice. We were loved all over America until W came along. Now the French don't even like us. What are we gonna do guys. I'm heart broke about this. Do they have like a PEST like support class for the Heart-broken-cause-the-French-don't-love-us-anymore liberal. I may have to sign up. I didn't realize my bleeding heart was going to go wobbly so quick. Help.... Help... There's a right wing conspiracy out to get me.

That was almost fun. Except now I feel like I'm gonna puke.
