The sanctity of marriage
As it turns out the sponsor of Tennessee's Marriage Protection Amendment is getting a divorce. Apparently he got busted with his girlfriend at a concert in Nashville. No additional comments are really necessary on this one are they?

Bill Clinton signed the "Defense fo Marriage" act. Then got caught getting getting BJs from his "ho" girl friend. No additional comments are really necessary on this one, are they?

This is the very same guy that defeated an amendment to the Act that would have included adultery in the Act. Now we know why. F*cking GoOPer hypocrites. Always playing to the fundy religious nutjobs. May they all have a special place in Hell.
Latest:
Frist to align with Mullah Dobson and declare Jihad against our Constitution and government. Reminds me more and more of the slave owners of the South leading up to the Civil War. We're soooo proud of our TN politicians! [gag]

Lets get this straight gonzone. You want all the religious folks to go to hell. I thought you wanted to get away from them. Not live with them. Regardless of what your shrink says you need to get back on the meds.

Republicans don't care about hypocrisy as long as the means justifies the end.

Ron, Ron, Ron,
What a poor attempt at twisting my words. What I'm saying is that the hypocrite GoOPers are exploiting the dumbass fundies, fundies who should be able to see, by the type examples noted above, how they are being used as asswipes. The politicians could give a flying f*ck about "moral values", they're all about power and advancing personal careers and fortunes.
Hope I didn't use too big a words for you.

I am glad you clarified. Christians are dumb asses and ass wipes. That's was much different than special place in hell for "all". Sorry I missed your point.

Ron, Ron, Ron,
There you go again! Trying to twist my words to suit you detached-from-reality world view. Politicians who abuse those so-called Christians who truly are dumbasses (and they are legion around here) are ass wipes (Frist, for example.) But then, you already knew what I was saying, didn't you?
I am a Christian Ron, and I belong to a church where stupid and wrong headed interpretations of the teachings of Jesus are not advocated. It's real simple, as in WWJD. Can anyone imagine Jesus telling homosexuals that God hates them, as Rev. Fred Phelps does? The exact opposite I'd say. Using hate to advance a political agenda, and then using my faith to hide it behind, is particularly egregious, in my opinion. And it's not a cute little political game Ron.

OK. You're a christian. No one has said otherwise. God doesn't hate anyone. God hates sin. Jesus hated sin. Not the sinner. Now I am not sure what church you go to but do they say that homosexuality is OK? Do they call it a sin? See, even if it's a sin you can be forgiven. If you can't be forgiven for that then you can't be forgiven for anything else (lying, cheating, fornicating, etc....). The only thing you cannot be forgiven for is not accepting Christ as your savior. My point is why do you feel the need to call your fellow christians names. Are they not as smart as you?

pot/kettle/black
Nice dodge on his questions. Masterful.
Posted by: Paul Witt at April 19, 2005 11:02 AM
What fucking question? I do not know Fred Phelps and cannot speak for the guy. If anyone teaches that God hates someone they are truly misguided. Is that the question you were referring to? There is nothing masterful about shoveling your kindergarten crap. It's child's play.
How is this for a question back. Can anyone imagine Jesus saying God doesn't care about homosexuality?

Fred Phelps... see here: www.godhatesfags.com
No, it's not a joke site. It's very real.
Yes I can see Jesus/God not caring about homosexuality. His message was love and compassion. When he stood on a hill and preached his message was about blessing the people that were most neglected.
Gonzone's point isn't about the rightness or wrongness of homosexuality. It's about people that claim to be Christians using hate filled rhetoric against gays to advance their own political ambitions. A good number of Christians think this message of hate is somehow Christian, it's not.

Are you saying that Fred Phelps is speaking for all Christians? Can you tell me who appointed Fred as spokes(person) for God? I guess when Janet Reno fried all those children in Waco she was doing that on behalf of the democratic party. Is that what all you guys wanted? Shame on you.
Posted by: Ron at April 19, 2005 12:37 PM
Who appointed Bill Frist and James Dobson as spokesmen for God?
Oh and thanks for the "Janet Reno fried all those children in Waco" comment. I knew it wouldn't take all that long for the wingnut rhetoric to surface.
Posted by: Paul Witt at April 19, 2005 01:45 PM
OK sorry. Janet didn't kill anybody... It was the FBI she sent down there with bulldozers. My bad.

There are certain power hungry politicians and church leaders that claim the mantle of Christian and are anything but. Just because they claim it doesn't make it so. Ask Dobson and Frist WWJD about homosexuality. These haters make me sick when they claim the mantle of Jesus in order to advance their poilitical agenda.
What do I think?
I think the outcast, amligned and rejected by the church and society of Jesus' time were the FIRST ones he claimed as his own. So, yes, I can see Jesus reaching out and claiming homosexuals as his children. Only haters reject. Real Christians embrace those society expels. Remember this: "what you do unto the least of these, you do unto me."
